Diablo 2’s Next Big Patch Fixes Sunder Charm Drops and Nerfs Warlock

Article source - Icy-Veins

The Season 14 PTR for Diablo 2 Resurrected goes live on April 14 at 11 AM PDT and runs until April 21. If you have been frustrated with Sunder Charm drop rates or Herald spawns, this patch has some good news for you.

Sunder Charms and Heralds Are Getting Fixed

This is probably the biggest change in the patch. Blizzard acknowledged that both Herald spawn rates and Latent Sunder Charm drop rates felt too low, and the PTR for patch 3.2.0 addresses both. Heralds also now spawn and hunt players immediately upon killing any monster in a Terror Zone, with the chance going up the more monsters you kill.

Warlock Is Getting Nerfed

The ‘new’ Warlock class gets a few adjustments as well. Bind Demon now requires skill point investment to bind champion, unique, and super unique demons. Blood Oath and Blood Boil get damage caps, Cursed Affix’s chance to cast Amplify Damage drops from 75% down to 5%, and a handful of strong auras have been removed from the possible demon pool entirely.

WASD Movement Is Back

On the quality of life side, which a lot of players have been asking for.

Blizzard has also prepared four character templates to help with PTR testing, covering Miasma, Flame, Bind Demon, and Echoing builds at various levels.

Diablo II: Resurrected PTR 3.2 Coming Soon

To help facilitate PTR Testing and Feedback, the following character templates have been created:

Each character template has:

Developer’s Note: If you bind a demon on Hell difficulty and consume it normally, it will provide the Hell difficulty bonus.

Bind Demon

Chaos

Miasma Bolt

Developer’s Note: Changed Miasma Bolt Cloud Explode value from 0 to 1 to prevent double ticks of damage.

Sigil: Lethargy

Ring of Fire

Miasma Chains

Flame Wave

Eldritch

Echoing Strike

Eldritch Blast

Terror Zones/Heralds/Sunder Charms

Developer’s Note: We have heard the feedback that both the spawn rate of Heralds and the drop rate of Latent Sunder Charms feel too low. We have increased the chances for both to address this, while still keeping the charms rarer than pre-Reign of the Warlock drop rates. The intent is for players to have a very high chance of seeing both a Tier 1 and 2 Herald in a single Terrorized Zone, creating an easily attainable chance to drop the charms. We have also introduced Latent Sunder Charms to the regular Magic Find-based drop pool to remove the restrictive nature of having to find and kill Heralds to get these items.
